Vehicle description

In the long life of one of the most iconic cars we find ourselves faced with the very first version of this model, called Flat Floor.

Our car was produced in November 1961 and exported to the United States, where it remained until 2007, the year in which it was imported to Italy where it is still today.

Our technical assistance has recently completed a full restoration of the engine, gearbox and mechanics, totally documented, keeping its originality in the fittings, in the body color and in the color of the internal leather. Matching numbers chassis, engine, gearbox, in accord to Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate.

This “piece of art” can be viewed at our site exclusively by appointment. Thanks to our technical assistance and restoration garage it is possible to inspect it with our professionals, who will be able to provide any technical details.

Historical notes

The first production model of the Jaguar E-Type was called Flat Floor due to the flat floor corresponding to the feet, a feature that was modified shortly after to give greater habitability.

The production of the Flat Floors was therefore limited only to cars built between ’61 and ’62.

The Coupè version or more precisely defined as FHC (Fixed Haed Coupè) was presented at the 1961 Geneva Motor Show, impressing everyone with its extraordinary design, combined with high performance, which placed it alongside the important sports coupes of the time such as Ferrari, Maserati and Aston Martin. Characterized by a revolutionary monocoque chassis with an additional front subframe, it features a 3.8-litre inline 6-cylinder.

The wonderful curves of its bodywork which manage to convey elegance and at the same time muscular sportiness were conceived by Malcom Sayer and Sir William Lyons. The disproportion of the length of its bonnet compared to the entire body of the car still manages to give an incredible balance to the car.
