The Mercedes 190 SL was presented in 1955 at the Geneva Motor Show, as a more affordable model of the more expensive and highly desired 300 SL.

On an aesthetic and design point of view, it shares many elements with its older sister, effectively maintaining its elegance and class. The car is equipped with a 1,900 cc in-line 4-cylinder capable of delivering 105 HP, the gearbox is a 4-speed manual, initially designed to br positioned behind the steering wheel but later moved to the bottom. It was sold almost exclusively in a convertible version, the coupé versions are in fact convertible versions with hardtop.
